K-Dilak has been crowned as “Best male artist of 2020”

This 2020 has been quite a stressful time for Haitian people. A year marked by the Covid-19 coupled with high level of insecurity and socio-political unrest. But that did not prevent the public from counting on male artists like Medjy from the band Enposib, who released a new album despite the social crises, and specially the solo artist K-Dilak with his slogan “Mesajé a” which means “the messenger”, who had a fairly successful period. Because of his remarkable work and his undeniable talent, therefore, MAGHAITI Media Group has the honor to award him the prize of “Best Male Artist of 2020“.

Joubitenee Dessalines aka K-Dilak is from Miragoane commune in western Haiti began the year in style by releasing the video clip “Banm verité” in collaboration with the popular singer Misty Jean. The hit song tells the story of a couple overwhelmed by infidelity, lies and jealousy. Like all K-dilak songs, the melody is catchy and the lyrics are easy to pick up. Published on April 3, 2020 on YouTube, the video has been viewed over 2,885,000 times in eight months.

On November 8, K-Dilak partnered with the very young singer Buteau Jean Garmel, to give their voice to street children suffering from martyrdom in Haiti through the video clip “Yo pa kapab ankò“. They speak on behalf of these homeless people, who live from day by day in a total indifference of society. The video has exceeded 3 million views on YouTube in less than two months.

But K-Dilak’s greatest success for the year remains his duet with Bedjine, “Pouki’n te marye” which presents a sensitive taboo subject. It is about the changes observed in couples after marriage over time, which can lead to infidelity, daily quarrels or even divorce. In this project, the public was able to discover Bedjine’s talent, who has been trying to make his way in the Haitian music industry for a few years, far from the buzz and scandals of the cultural sector. The clip garnered more than 4 million YouTube views in just 4 weeks. It is also one of the most beautiful songs and collaborations of the current period.

Apart from these three hits, K-dilak has had rather an eventful year 2020 in terms of performances in many different cities in Haiti such as Arcahaie, Croix-des-Bouquets, Jean Rabel, Nippes, Thomazeau, Montruis, St Raphael, Gressier, St Marc, Port-de-Paix, Miragoane, Tabarre, Carrefour, Gros Morne, Cap-Haitien, Saint Michel de L’attalaye, Pilate… K-dilak really made its mark on the public. At many times during his performance, the singer had to let the public as a big choir sing most of his tracks.

It is well known that success comes with a lot of sponsors, more fans specially on social media. With more than 138,000 subscribers on Facebook, 658,000 subscribers on Instagram, 189,000 on Youtube, Joubitenee Dessalines dit K-dilak, remains the most valuable male artist of 2020.

Hard work is always rewarded. Congratulations K-Dilak and keep up the good work!
